Vote for POP!

Our good friends at the Philadelphia Orchard Project have a good chance of winning $15,000 for being a green hero!

POP has helped to beautify our city over the past few years by turning vacant spaces into beautiful –and useful –orchards:

Since 2007 POP has planted 17 orchards in neighborhoods across the city, totaling 158 fruit trees, 287 berry bushes and fruiting vines, and countless perennial vegetables and herbs. Each orchard is planted in collaboration with a different community partner, including public schools, community gardens, low income housing, community centers, and more. POP’s innovative approach allows communities to take the initiative in making themselves greener and more food secure. With only very part time staff, all this work has been done primarily through small individual donations and the efforts of hundreds of volunteers.

Please help them win by casting your vote. This is a Facebook-only competition, so you need to vote through your Facebook account:

Good luck, POP!
