Tree Plantings

In an effort to foster increased vegetation and better relationships, the Roosevelt Middle School Student Government Board will team up with students to plant seedlings on their school campus. Various trees will be planted around the school to provide habitat, shade and a creative learning and playing environment.

This planting will foster an appreciation of trees in a neighborhood where trees are often unwanted and provide valuable education opportunities that discuss the link between tree planting and clean water in a highly urban environment. This tree planting is the first in a series of events with the Roosevelt Middle School designed to increase watershed and environmental awareness and foster a sense of stewardship with children for the area where they live and learn.
