TTF would like to recognize the Roots to Re-Entry Landscape Training and Job Placement Program of the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society for its leadership in providing Green Stormwater Infrastructure Management training. This program recognizes both the incredible opportunity and challenge created by Philadelphia’s groundbreaking Green City Clean Watersprogram.

The Roots to Re-Entry Landscape Training and Job Placement Program was founded by the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society (PHS) and its partners to assist former inmates of the Philadelphia Prison System to find employment. The program offers inmates the chance to learn new skills in landscape management and local food production as well as gain a fulfilling employment opportunity upon release. Inmates receive 14 weeks of training focused on developing skills in job preparedness, health, local food production, and landscape management.

Through funding provided by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and in partnership with TTF and GreenTreks, PHS will develop training components to teach Roots to Re-Entry participants the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in Green Stormwater Infrastructure Management.
