TTF joined forces this week with partner Philadelphia Parks and Recreation (PPR) to host a Tacony Creek Park photo expedition for budding young photojournalists from Juniata!

Tacony Creek Park Photo Walk
We started our walk at Juniata’s Ferko Playground, right around the corner from the I Street and Ramona Avenue gateway to Tacony Creek Park. Lindsay Deal, PPR Out of School Activities Coordinator and former TTF intern, taught a group of 13 youth the basics of photography. TTF then shared our Watershed Heroes lesson, which teaches how our streets connect to our creeks!

The group was anxious to get into the park and take some pictures! We walked along the trail and explored the park and creek on a gorgeous day, We can’t wait to view the developed pictures and plan for an exhibition at our summer block parties. We also look forward to talking more with our young environmentalists about the importance of green space, and hearing their thoughts about park programs!
