We did it again! On June 24 and 25, we kicked off the Summer with our 3rd Annual “Celebrate Your Park! Discover Your Creek!” Block Party series in Tacony Creek Park!
Every year, we celebrate Tacony Creek Park and its treasures by welcoming neighbors to join us at the park gateways for fun, educational activities. For two days, we celebrated at Whitaker and Loudon, followed by Bingham Street and Roosevelt Boulevard. It was positive to see many, but we also to make over 100 new friends at Bingham Street, as we celebrated that gateway for the very first time!
At the block parties, we distributed brand new park maps that highlight the location of each gateway entrance. Participants enjoyed free bird walks and bike rides, and learned about our watershed with fun activities including our enviroscape and Water Wheel Game. We also gave out free pretzels, water ice and Peanut Chews!
