It was a sunny and delicious Maple Sugaring Day in Tacony Creek Park last Saturday, March 9th.

After a week of frosty temperatures, it was nice to be out in the park with the sun shining brightly overhead and a temperature of 50 degrees. And what better way to spend a Saturday afternoon, learning about how maple trees are tapped and how maple syrup is made, and then eating waffles with maple syrup!

Savannah, TTF Community Trail Ambassador: “As I reflect back upon the day, what I enjoyed most was that as we tapped into these trees together, we heard from our neighbors that they were recognizing that events like this help them to feel tapped into their own neighborhood! I spoke with attendees who expressed prior feelings of hesitation about venturing into the park alone, who now were enjoying the park together with others, feeling safe, part of a larger community, and excited to join in more events coming up this season.”

Thank you ALL for joining us! We hope you enjoyed learning more about Tacony Creek Park, its trail and creek, and your community.
