Sharing Service Opportunities with Volunteer Coordinators

On Valentine’s Day, we shared some love by hosting volunteer coordinators and teachers at our Volunteer Coordinator Breakfast at our office at Globe Dye Works.  Attendees were brought together for conversations over breakfast to share their experiences moving people to action to give back to their communities.

The morning was also an opportunity to meet local leaders and discuss our volunteer opportunities that TTF Watershed Partnership has scheduled for the year. Without the support of volunteers, we would not be able to do the clean-ups, plantings, and community outreach that are a cornerstone of our mission.

Together, we’ll continue to enhance our volunteer strategies with diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice both in mind and in practice. We strive to collectively grow environmental stewards in our watershed, seeking to empower volunteers and increase streams of communication, while keeping focus on our vision and purpose.

Thank you to our partners at the Engineering & Land Planning Association, Civil Air Patrol, Riverfront North PartnershipMontgomery County MWS, Fairmount Park Conservancy, Northeast Neighborhood Library, Office of Representative Joseph C. Hohenstein for joining us for the Volunteer Coordinator Breakfast. Additionally, we’d like to thank Kenneth Schultz for speaking on behalf of CSAA Insurance Group about their volunteer experiences, as we learned a lot about organizational strategies implemented to increase volunteer opportunities for employees.

We’re grateful to El Centro De Estudiantes School and Abington School District for sharing their testimonies for our attendees to read, and to Chick Fil’ A for the delicious breakfast that made our Valentine’s Day together extra sweet.

We look forward to seeing your groups at our monthly cleanups, storm drain marking programs, and many other opportunities to get active in Philadelphia and Montgomery County in 2020. Please do not hesitate to reach out with ideas and requests as we continue to create collective opportunities for our local environment!
