Emmanuel was TTF’s first paid intern, funded through a grant from the Alliance for Watershed Education through its Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice internship. It is soon to be my last day of my internship at the time of writing this. It’s been fun, being an intern in a nonprofit partnership. The fact that it’s made specifically to help the neighborhood and the Earth is just amazing to me. My work often could become tedious but that’s commitment to a good cause. Every staff plays a significant role whether it be working on ways to spread the word, keeping maintenance of the park and or office, planning and staffing events, or making sure everything runs smoothly.
I personally think I didn’t do enough but, that might be just me and my unworthy feelings talking. Despite that, I enjoyed the time I spent here. I learned things about different topics like business, office work, wildlife, and vegetation. This being my first-ever job is also a big plus since I can now say I have experience in this very field occupation. It’s going to be more for my future resumes.
I don’t know for sure but I have an idea to come back someday. I’m thinking of if it will be next summer or as a staff member in a couple of years but I do want to come back. As of right now, I haven’t made up my mind. I wonder if these staff will still be here. I guess we’ll see, won’t we?
