Behind The Trees: A Conversation with Jay Coreano, Artist of the Love Our Park Murals, and Victoria Prizzia, Founder of Habitheque
Join us for a live online conversation with local artist, Jay Coreano, about the TTF Watershed Partnership’s #LoveOurPark project. Victoria Prizzia, Founder and Principal of Habitheque, will talk with Jay about the process of conceptualizing and creating nature murals along the Tacony Creek Park trail to inspire curiosity about this local environmental asset and its treasures. Attendees can submit questions in advance or during the Q&A session with the artist during the program.
Jay created six murals on the trail that feature a butterfly, a fox, flowers, a turtle with baby turtles, a frog with baby frogs, and a deer. The murals with babies are designed to be interactive (the babies are stencils, inviting visitors to color them in with chalk.) During the painting process, Jay spoke with hundreds of park visitors, many in Spanish, about the park and which living things they wanted to see represented in the murals. Recent features by WHYY and the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy both include the #LoveOurPark project.
