On April 18, the day we had planned to celebrate Opening Day for Trails, we hope you will join us as we show our gratitude for the trails. As the country stays home to slow the spread of COVID-19, many have turned to their local trail for physical activity and solace—demonstrating how vital access to safe outdoor space is in all of our communities. Let’s come together in a virtual celebration of trails, sharing messages of thanks to our trails and trail managers, and stories of hope!
Please celebrate with us virtually from home by:
- Use #CelebrateTrails to share your “thank you” notes for trails and to show off photos of the trails in your neighborhood or park that you appreciate.
- Weigh in on a new local trail! A walking and biking trail the length of Tookany Creek from High School Rd to Cheltenham Ave has been proposed. A study is currently underway to determine the feasibility of constructing a new trail and upgrading existing trails – and your input is needed!
- Pledge to Celebrate Trails @ Home with the Rails to Trails Conservancy for a chance to win prizes. TTF Watershed Partnership will also be part of a live broadcast on Saturday, April 18, at 12 p.m. ET, on Rails-to-Trails Conservancy’s Facebook Page. There will be additional ways to win prizes during this broadcast, so make sure you tune in!
