Riparian Buffer Restoration

The stream bank in this park was badly eroded due to flooding, invasive plants and a lack of understory foliage in the riparian buffer. With over 60 volunteers and funding assistance from TreeVitalize, Department Conservation and Natural Resources, and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, the invasive plants were removed and replaced by close to 500 native plants, including trees, shrubs, and groundcover.
