Stormwater Management

The Triangle Building in Jenkintown was used as a dry cleaners until 2007, when Midguard Properties transformed it into multi-family dwelling units under the supervision of Jenkintown Borough Engineer, Klaus Fuelleborn, P.E.

As part of the transformation, an oversized drain line was installed to direct rainwater from the roof into cisterns (storage containers) located under the adjacent parking lot. The water collected in the cisterns can then seep slowly into the soil through perforated pipes. This helps avoid flooding by allowing for a more gradual recharge of the groundwater and creek after a heavy rainfall.

  • Reduces storm runoff
  • Reduces flooding risk of Borough residents in lower lying areas
