TTF Celebrates the Vernon Park Rain Garden!

The celebration of the Vernon Park rain garden installation coincided with a beautiful Saturday morning right after a week of intense rainstorms. Lori Hayes from Philadelphia Parks and Recreation gave a fascinating and thought-provoking tour of the rain garden to a group of passionate community members. Other staff from PP&R and TTF as well as Ruth Seely and Sue Finch from Friends of Vernon Park answered questions and celebrated the renewed interest and involvement in the park.

The Vernon Park rain garden installation was made possible with the support of the Philadelphia Water Department, Philadelphia Parks & Recreation, the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, the Fairmount Parks Conservancy, the Friends of Vernon Park, and the rest of our many partners.
