On May 31, TTF hosted our very first Watershed Milestones Award Ceremony & Reception. Hosted by the Philadelphia Water Department’s Fairmount Water Works Interpretive Center, this event brought together watershed leaders from across our region to celebrate all of our accomplishments in improving the health of the Tookany/Tacony-Frankford Watershed.
At the event, guests networked while enjoying refreshments, wine, and a great selection of beer from Yards Brewing Company. Attendees also explored the Fairmount Water Works Interpretive Center’s terrific educational exhibits and made generous bids on Silent Auction items. We met our fundraising goal for the event, which will help to support our many valuable watershed education and restoration initiatives. We were also able to honor some fantastic watershed stewards, listed below.
The program included great remarks from TTF Executive Director Julie Slavet, Board President Gerry Kaufman and Philadelphia Water Commissioner Howard Neukrug. Mayor Nutter even stopped by to show his support for watershed improvement initiatives!
