For example, did you know that in 2011/2012, TTF reached nearly 3,000 watershed stewards through workshops, tours, and volunteer stewardship events? We hosted the following watershed awareness and improvement activities for municipal stakeholders, partner organizations and watershed residents:
• 34 lessons, presentations and workshops
• 20 cleanups
• 24 community meetings and networking resource events
• 11 community tabling events
• 10 native garden, rain garden and riparian buffer plantings • 5 nature walks
• 4 tree surveying and planting programs
• 3 ribbon-cutting ceremonies at project sites
• 2 storm drain marking efforts
• 1 mussel surveying event
As a result, we:
• Planted approximately 1,000 native plants
• Collected 5,250 pounds of trash and recycling
• Marked 70 storm drains with “No Dumping” Medallions
• Planted 35 street trees
