Last Sunday, just as the trees were starting to bloom in Tacony Creek Park, TTF got a chance to celebrate spring with our second annual Healthy Trails 5k run/walk.
In partnership with our generous sponsors Philadelphia Parks & Recreation, Philadelphia Water Department, Scattergood Foundation, Friends Hospital, Community Academy of Philadelphia and Latinas in Motion, Healthy Trails brings runners and walkers into Tacony Creek Park for a low-pressure race that is fun for all ages.
This year, we welcomed 90 runners and walkers as well as 30 volunteers to the park on a warm, lovely day. At 9:00 am, the runners started off on the hilly, out and back course through the park, using the new trail connecting the existing trail at Roosevelt Boulevard to the Juniata Park neighborhood at Ferko Playground.
