Did you know that Whole Foods holds four 5% Giving Days each year, donating 5% of a specific day’s sales to a local community partner?
On May 27, TTF was the recipient of this generosity at the Whole Foods in Jenkintown! A TTF team of staff including Executive Director Julie Slavet, Community Watershed Educator Doryan DeAngel and Community Watershed Specialist Alex Cooper and Emilie Wetzel, our wonderful intern, spent the day at this beautiful store.
We thanked shoppers, especially our friends who came to support us…and we talked to lots of enthusiastic people about our watershed education, stewardship, restoration, and advocacy efforts.
We brought along our enviroscape…a hands-on model of demonstrating how watersheds work…and even marked storm drains in the Whole Foods parking lot along with Whole Foods Team Member Deidre!
Thank you to all our friends who came by to shop and show support including folks from Abington Friends School, our Board of Directors, and Representative Madeline Dean.
And you’re probably wondering: how much was our 5% donation? The exciting news: Whole Foods will be giving us a check for a little over $5,200!!! These unrestricted dollars are critical to our operations and provide a match for project and other grants.
If you came by that day and liked what you learned, you can make a donation here. Questions? Please contact us at 215-744-1853.
