The wind didn’t stop over 40 neighbors and friends who joined us and the Tacony Creek Park Keepers at the Love Your Park Fall Festival & Cleanup on Saturday, November 10. The chill didn’t prevent these volunteers from working together to remove 1,850 lbs of trash and debris from the I St and Ramona Avenue gateway up through Wyoming Avenue bridge along the Tacony Creek Park trail.

By the end of the day, volunteers collected a total of 70 bags of trash, 4 mattresses, 2 shopping carts, 4 tires, 2 trash cans, 2 car bumpers and 1 toilet.

Thank you to “Da Family” crew from PowerCorpsPHL for helping us clean the park, SWEEP from the Streets Department for bringing recycling bins for neighbors, and Murals on the Move from Mural Arts Philadelphia for bringing out the inner artist in each volunteer with a hands-on Great Blue Heron activity.

Thanks to ALL of you for participating and helping us beautify Tacony Creek Park and its beautiful trail. Your care and support made this day a success.
