By Vary Soth, Intern for the TTF Watershed Partnership
The TTF Watershed Partnership staff I’ve met so far have been helpful, welcoming, and down-to-earth. One of my first tasks as an intern involved a walk with staff member Nathan around Tacony Creek Park in Philadelphia. The long, scenic walk educated me about TTF Watershed Partnership’s mission, stormwater infrastructure issues, the completed and in-progress projects taken on by the organization, and future plans for programming. One of the most recent projects in the park were murals painted on the paved path by local artist Jay Coreano, which included flowers, a fox, a butterfly, and more.
During my time at TTF Watershed Partnership, I’d like to develop my interpersonal skills as I work with community and staff members. I would also like to expand my knowledge base about our watershed, where our water comes from, and how we can protect the source. This internship experience will allow me to grow my understanding of the natural world and give back to the community, and I can’t wait to get my hands dirty!
