My name is Dante Falasco, and I am very excited to have the opportunity to intern with TTF in the upcoming months! I was born in Chester, PA but have spent most of my young life in Broomall, PA. From Pre-K all the way up to twelfth grade, I attended Delaware County Christian School. Having been there so long, the school had a very large part in shaping who I am today. There, I excelled academically but, most importantly, discovered some of my favorite areas of study. History and environmental science are fields that I am interested in learning more about, possibly for my career.

Currently, I am taking a year off before I enroll in a college (hopefully) next fall. I believe this gap year is the best decision I could have made and I have already determined other areas of interests I previously had not known about!

While I was in elementary and middle school, I participated in many nearby cleanups and tree planting days with local associations. My family and I would also go on our own cleanup trips, even when we were on vacation! However, when I entered high school, I strayed away from this and almost forgot I was ever interested in it. It was not until eleventh grade when I took “Intro to Environmental Science” that I remembered why all those years ago I had been interested in the environment.

Ever since then, I have been looking for ways to get back involved and my gap year provided me with the perfect opportunity to do so. One day a few months ago, I sat down and searched google for a few hours for any sort of volunteer or internship opportunities with local organizations. I was not having any sort of luck until I found TTF’s website! There, I saw that there was a cleanup that coming weekend and I knew I had to go. I convinced my father to get up early on a Saturday morning and drive 45 minutes to pick up trash, but we both had a great time!

Outside of environmental areas, I have many different interests and hobbies. I am a track and field sprinter and at one point was #10 nationally ranked for my age group. I also love to play soccer and video games in my free time. My interest in video games led me to begin streaming and running other social media around my gaming.

I am also currently working on my own sustainably and ethically made clothing brand. This is perhaps the riskiest adventure I have ever embarked on but I am very excited to see where it goes.

Overall, I hope to just learn more about how organizations like this are run and what areas within that I may be interested in. This is one big learning experience for me but I am eager to learn and find out more about myself and the world around me!
