Join us in welcoming our Seasonal Maintenance Attendant, Jose. He comes to us with solid experience with PowerCorps PHL and AmeriCorps. Say hello when you see him in Tacony Creek Park, working to keep it clean, green, and welcoming!  The photo above is of Jose planting an Ohio Buckeye tree with Tree Tenders of the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society for a Frankford neighbor today!

Hi, my name is Jose Sanchez and I am TTF’s new Seasonal Maintenance Attendant.

My experience with PowerCorps helped me prepare for this role and inspired me to apply for TTF’s SMA position. I was encouraged to join PowerCorps because I wanted to better myself and have a change of scenery in my life. I enjoyed the PowerCorps culture and team environment, and knowing my work impacted the community positively.

I learned how to develop better time management and communication skills with PowerCorps, which I look forward to continue accomplishing in my role with TTF.

I am local to the Tacony Creek Park area, and I became interested in TTF because I’m inspired by TTF’s work for the community and how they teach youth about the watershed.

In my free time, I love cooking seafood, and giving back to the community, even if it’s just maintaining the parks. This summer, I’m looking forward to working with new people and partners.
