Hello TTF Community,
I’m Wendi Wu, and I couldn’t be more excited to officially be here full-time as the Communication Manager for our watershed! After a couple of months part-time and now a few weeks in this new full-time role, I’m even more energized and inspired by the amazing people, partners, and projects I get to work with.
This role has been a wonderful opportunity to blend my passion for environmental conservation with my love for storytelling and community engagement.📸🌍 I’ve already had the pleasure of connecting with so many dedicated individuals, and it’s clear that the TTF community is full of people who care deeply about protecting our watershed and fostering a sustainable future.
My journey has taken me from working with Greenpeace East Asia to the subtropical rainforests, where I focused on community engagement and digital storytelling. This work allowed me to contribute to the protection of some of the planet’s most endangered and rare species, such as the Chinese horseshoe crab, white-headed langurs, green peafowls, spoon-billed sandpipers, and Indo-Pacific humpbacked dolphins. 🦀🦍🦜🐦🐬

These experiences deeply strengthened my commitment to environmental advocacy. More recently, in Philadelphia, I’ve proudly worn the uniforms of both the Philadelphia Zoo and Parks and Recreation. Each role gave me a deeper understanding of the local environment and community. Reinforced to me how essential it is to build deep connections in order to drive meaningful change.

During the 2021 summer expedition with the Guangxi Biodiversity Research and Conservation Association, we rescued horseshoe crabs entangled in fishing nets on the coastal mudflats. In 2024, I observed Atlantic horseshoe crabs spawning in the Delaware estuary. (This position is the most comfortable for the back and prevents getting pants wet. 😂)
I’m thrilled to bring these experiences to TTF. I’ve always believed in kindness, working smarter, and never giving up — principles that continue to guide me. Greenpeace’s slogan, positive changes through action, has always been my life motto. 💪🌟
Working on Greenpeace’s Rainbow Warrior was one of the highlights of my career.
Some of you might remember my Instagram takeover with TTF last year, where I showcased the creeks and surrounding environment. 📱💧That experience allowed me to fully immerse myself in enjoying the beauty of our watershed, and it made me even more excited about the important work TTF does to protect and restore our waterways.
Now that I’m here full-time, I’m eager to dive even deeper into our work. I look forward to continuing to collaborate with all of you to amplify our message, share our successes, and inspire even more people to get involved with our mission.💙🌱
Thank you for welcoming me into this wonderful community. I can’t wait to meet more of you, hear your stories, and work together to protect and enhance our watershed!
Warmly,
Wendi 🌿💧
P.S. Before I go, I wanted to recommend a movie I recently watched called Perfect Days. It’s a beautifully slow-paced film that invites you to appreciate the quiet moments in life. While it may not be for everyone, I have faith that our audience will appreciate its diversity and unique storytelling. The film follows the routine life of Hirayama (Kōji Yakusho), a public toilet cleaner in Tokyo. It’s a reminder to find joy in simplicity, something that resonates deeply with our work here at TTF and the natural beauty we protect. Definitely worth a watch!
Stay connected with us on social media and keep an eye out for upcoming events and initiatives. Let’s make a positive impact together!
