By TTF Intern, Sophia Brown
I am so happy that I had the opportunity to work with TTF this semester! I mostly focused on creating graphics and social media content for the Salt Week Blog, and co-writing and designing a post for the Seed Starting Blog. Through this work, I have improved my writing and communication skills and expanded my graphic design experience.

I loved engaging with TTF’s community events when I attended the Seed Starting Workshop and Philly Spring Cleanup. One of my favorite moments working with TTF was the TTF huddle after the Philly Spring Cleanup. After all the participants left and we packed everything up, Justin DiBerardinis, the executive director of TTF, gathered everyone together to debrief the event. The energy was incredibly positive as everyone reflected on aspects of the event that went well and things they thought could be improved upon. I loved feeling like a contributing member of the team and it was exciting to see that the cold and rainy weather did inhibit the enthusiasm that TTF had for the event.
I am excited to use the experience I gained working with TTF in my future education and career. My involvement with TTF this semester has inspired me to continue community non-profit work!
Editor’s Note (by Wendi):
It’s rare to meet someone who dives headfirst into every challenge with such determination, clarity, and drive—and that’s exactly what Sophia brought to TTF this semester. She doesn’t hesitate to ask bold questions, push projects forward, or challenge assumptions in pursuit of better outcomes. Her work wasn’t just creative—it was intentional, sharp, and rooted in a deep commitment to making an impact. Her presence reminded us that leadership doesn’t always mean taking center stage—it’s often found in those who lift others up, take ownership, and act decisively. We can’t wait to see the powerful mark she’ll continue to make in her next chapter.
