Roughly a third of Pennsylvania’s waterways are too polluted for swimming or eating fish that are caught. With a problem of that scale, we need programs that are going to meet those challenges — and the Growing Greener program can do that. This state program has funded streamwide tree plantings, addressed acid mine drainage, and given farmers the training and tools to keep significant levels of pollutants out of our water.
