Join us for this free program jointly hosted by TTF and Cheltenham Township. We’ll walk along the Tookany Creek to explore how soil organisms recycle materials, then relate the process to human recycling/composting – the new improved approach. We’ll look at what is truly compostable, and what is not.
Then, we’ll talk about what to do with the compost you have helped create. San Francisco and other large cities collect compostable materials in separate cans along with trash and recycling (i.e. 3 cans). Some teachers are composting right in their classrooms with red worms. Cheltenham Township composts leaves and lawn clippings. To do better, we will take a closer look at 2 important concepts: “Cradle to Grave”, and “Cradle to Cradle”. See, feel, and examine examples and discuss how to make these 2 concepts part of your everyday life.
Class size limited to 15. Meet in the parking lot near the Central Ave. end of the Tookany Creek Parkway in Cheltenham Township.
