Interactive workshop with TTF and Artist Rebecca Schultz
The Tookany/Tacony Frankford Watershed Partnership is partnering with local artist Rebecca Schultz for a multi-part educational program using arts and community science to learn about our watershed! This workshop will begin at Tookany Creek in High School Park, where participants will learn about the role plants and soil play in supporting watershed health, and the relationship between creek channelization and stormwater runoff. The workshop will then move to the Elkins Park Free Library (a 10 minute walk or 2 minute drive) where participants observe an interactive sculpture demonstrating the difference between channelized and naturalized streams and make an artwork based on riparian plants and soil. Families and all ages are welcome to join us for this exciting intersection of art and science.
