Kadafi El-Kardah is an active Pennsylvania Horticultural Society trained Tree Tender in the TTF watershed, a Delaware River Watershed fellow with the Environmental Leadership Program, and a Delaware River Watershed Professional of Color fellow with the Institute of Conservation Leadership. His strong passion for public spaces, youth development, and environmental protection has led to his experiences with the Free Library of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania State University’s Recreation, Parks and Tourism Management Department, the Pennsylvania Environmental Council, and to his current position with the Philadelphia Outward Bound School.
As a Philadelphia native, Kadafi shows great pride in the city and wants to make an impact in improving the quality of life issues faced by residents. He is an alum of the Philadelphia City Planning Commission’s Citizen Planning Institute, and serves on the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission’s (DVRPC) Public Participation Taskforce and SEPTA’s Citizen Advisory Committee. He spends his free time exploring Philly’s hidden gems, walking park trails, and volunteering at community-serving non-profit organizations. Kadafi earned a B.S. in Environmental Science from La Salle University.
