Montez Devine James

Montez is a dedicated TTF board member and long-time volunteer, deeply rooted in the community. Growing up near D Street and Tabor Avenue, Montez returned to his neighborhood after serving in the military to continue giving back to the place he calls home.

Professionally, Montez serves as a Parks and Recreation Seasonal Maintenance Attendant, ensuring local parks are safe and welcoming for families. He has completed the Penn State Extension Arborist Program, holds an ISA certificate, and has participated in specialized park and recreation training, furthering his expertise in environmental stewardship.

Montez’s dedication to service includes three years of military service (March 2012–January 2015) as a Quartermaster (Navigation) aboard the USS Boxer (LHD-4) in San Diego. His service earned him the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Marksman Pistol Shot Ribbon.

A passionate community advocate, Montez volunteers weekly with the Pentecostal House of Prayer’s Philabundance Food Bank Share Food Program, helping distribute food to families in need.

In his free time, Montez enjoys fish-keeping, gaming on his Nintendo Switch, and exploring music and anime—hobbies that reflect his creativity and commitment to nurturing growth in both his personal and community life.

Montez’s unique perspective, hands-on approach, and dedication to service make him an invaluable member of the TTF board, where he champions environmental stewardship and community engagement.
