Will in Rain garden

TTF has built a community of people who care about the health of our creeks and open spaces. We simply couldn’t do our work without their passion and energy.

Our interns have been essential to deepening our impact. Over 50 enthusiastic, diligent young volunteers have passed through our doors over the years. We take our role in supporting these young people very seriously. We strive to ensure that their time with us readies them for future work experiences, and inspires them to advocate for the environment, regardless of their path in life.

TTF interns gain knowledge about clean water work and our watershed, all while making connections with other environmental professionals, and having a great time! Interested in TTF intern projects? Keep reading!

Meet some TTF interns

In 2020, intern Vary Soth helped to dig a plot for a storage container at Friends Hospital – hard work but still fun! Interns also have the opportunity to get their hands dirty with plantings, like Nathan Sienkiewcz in 2014 at our Backyards with Buffers planting!

Our 2021 intern, Kamille, participated in cleanups, made community

outreach phone calls, and was involved in rewarding experiences such as working with Philadelphia residents who have a passion for watershed issues.

In 2021, intern Dante gained confidence in making phone calls, and wrote our Winter Wonderland blog series, which encouraged people to get outside to their local parks in cold weather!

Read more about how past interns Dante, Mensa, Kamille, Vary (and more!) have enjoyed their time with us and gained valuable experience and knowledge for their future. Click on the testimonial photos below to read about Kamille’s & Mensa’s experiences with TTF!
